Brand New Day

You are here: Home \ Brand New Day

Do not let a bad day or game carry over unto to your next game.

Today is a brand new day, but what does that even mean? In a nutshell, today’s problems should not be tomorrow’s problems.

Just because you didn’t get it done today does not mean you won’t get it done tomorrow or the next time you take the plate. No one’s perfect. At some point in life, everyone fails. But how do you bounce back? How do you overcome?

In Glenn’s opinion, he thinks every athlete should suffer from short-term memory loss. He tells his athletes to embrace failure and learn to hate the taste. Not that you won’t taste it again, but this time you know not to finish the meal because that is a meal that you didn’t enjoy.

Every day you get a chance to write yesterday’s wrongs on and off the field. If you had huge success yesterday, it doesn’t matter because each day is a brand new day.

To improve your score on this factor, here are some key steps you can take to make progress in this area:

  1. Learn to not beat yourself up when you fail.
  2. Learn to ignore the talking heads on T.V. and the writers in the papers. They will love you
when you’re up and trash you when you’re down. It’s business not personal. If you do your
job the way you are capable then they will have no reason to trash you.
  3. Don’t be like an elephant, you fail think about what you did wrong and what they did right
and let it go. don’t carry it with you into the next game or next series.
