Aging is a fact of life. Looking your age is not.

“Beautiful skin requires a commitment, not a miracle.”-Erno Lazlo

The skin is the largest organ of the body, and the face is usually one of the most critical physical aspects of meeting another person. An excellent looking look can be advantageous to open better opportunities for the individual.

In today’s world, the skin gets exposed to various dirt and pollution. Moreover, the skin also renews itself once every 28 days. The process causes dead skin build-up when left untouched, which will then lead to multiple skin problems such as acne and skin discoloration and even blackheads.

Facials are usually multi-step procedures for cleansing, exfoliating, treating, and moisturizing the skin. It can target a specific concern or skin type and help restore it to normal.

According to a study in 2018, different facial procedures can prevent and treat skin aging concerns inclusive of wrinkles, fine lines, and dark spots.

Facials tends to be expensive if you get it done in a skin clinic. However, knowing the procedure can allow one to do it at home as well:

How facials are performed:

  1. Cleansing- before doing anything, it is best to start with a clean base. Removing the dirt and grime from the skin is essential before doing anything else because they can aggravate the skin during treatment.
  2. Skin analysis- before moving forward, skin analysis helps us to see what the condition of the skin is in and what it needs. The skin type and concern gets pointed out here.
  3. Exfoliating- removal of dead skin cells is vital to getting a glowing skin and preventing the development of acne and blackheads.
  4. Extracting- aims to remove the whiteheads, blackheads, and pimples if any.
  5. Treatment- aims to treat a specific skin concern or skin type. This procedure can include an essence, serum, or mask.
  6. Moisturizing-the final step of skincare. It is responsible for creating a skin barrier from the external world.
