Intimacy for Well Being

It hurts to have someone in your heart that you can have in your arms.

“To have someone to understand your mind is a different intimacy.”

Good relationships are building blocks to achieve well being. It helps individuals to connect and boost each other’s feeling of self-worth and mood level.

Intimacy is the measure of closeness among two individuals, including family, friends, and loved ones. Thus, understanding the role of intimacy in relationships is vital to helping create stronger bonds and increasing well being.

A study in 2016 found that intimacy in online social interactions leads to an influence in health and well being. However, the relationship between online intimacy and well being is still limited. Thus, future studies are recommended to prove the point.

How to improve intimacy for well being:

  1. Communicate and share your opinions. A relationship that doesn’t discuss the problems is bound to end before it even started. Misunderstandings can cease by talking with your partner.
  2. Become more active. Studies show that the best way to increase intimacy is through physical intercourse. Lovemaking allows the lover to give himself or herself entirely to his or her partner, which leads to an increase in understanding of each other’s emotions.
  3. Understand your own emotions before you try to understand your partners. Feelings of confusion happens when the two individuals involved are not on the same page. Learn to compromise and accept each other’s views and emotions.
  4. Spend time with each other. The more you see others and do various activities, the better you can connect with that individual.
  5. Share some secrets. Trust is an essential factor for intimacy. Knowing and protecting each others secrets can strengthen further privacy among individuals involved.
