Good sleep can also maximize athletic performance and potential. A shorter sleep duration has been identified as a cause for poor athletic performance. This shows up as a more basic functional limitation in elderly women. A study in over 2,800 women found that poor sleep was linked to slower walking, lower grip strength and greater difficulty performing independent activities

Sleeping poorly can contribute to being overweight!

Poor sleepers also have a greater incidence of Stroke and Heart Disease. It’s known that sleep quality and duration can have a major effect on many health risk factors. These are the factors believed to drive chronic diseases, including heart disease.

Make sleep an important priority in your routine, and you will see your quality of life improve in many areas.
