Biofeedback: The Frequencies of Wellbeing

Every human being is the author of his health and disease.

“If it weren’t science, it wouldn’t be a miracle.”

People are continually looking for new approaches to tackle multiple diseases. Recently, biofeedback training is growing popular in the USA.

Biofeedback is a self-regulation method of allowing individuals to control involuntary body processes. It makes usage of electronic equipment to convert physiological signals into meaningful data and guide for therapy. Trained practitioners direct useful data and use the feedback to regulate their physiology into a healthy one.

According to a study in 2010, biofeedback interventions are efficient for various medical conditions of Americans. This success led to an increasing demand for biofeedback. Moreover, technology also made it possible to automate the biofeedback trainer as much as possible.

Different types of biofeedback:

  1. Breathing. A kind of respiratory biofeedback that monitors breathing and respiration rate.
  2. Heart rate. A kind of cardiovascular biofeedback that monitors heartbeat and irregularities.
  3. Muscle Contraction. A kind of muscular biofeedback that monitors electrical activity and number of contractions per minute.
  4. Brain waves. A kind of nervous biofeedback that uses EEG to check from brain sensors and waves.
  5. Temperature. A kind of skin sensor that checks for the rise or drop in temperature of the body. The reading can show the physical and mental outputs.

Biofeedback devices:

  1. Programs in computer or applications in mobile. These are typically sensors accompanied by a device stuck on you for heart rates or skin changes.
  2. Wearable devices. These continuously track your biological outputs and send real-time data to your device.
