Privacy Page Purpose Overview – At One Item, Inc, we respect the privacy of our users, and work hard to protect it. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you access and utilize our mobile applications, such as the Health Science Index, Better Now, and the Sports Science Index. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH THE TERMS OF THIS PRIVACY POLICY, PLEASE DO NOT ACCESS THE APPLICATION.

Effective Date – One Item, Inc. reserves the right to update or make changes to this Privacy Policy at any time and for any reason. We will alert you about any changes by updating the “last updated” date of this Privacy Policy. You are encouraged to periodically review this Privacy Policy to stay informed of updates. You will be deemed to have been made aware of, will be subject to, and will be deemed to have accepted the changes in any revised Privacy Policy by your continued use of the Application after the date such revised Privacy Policy is posted.

This Privacy Policy was last updated on Oct 17, 2022, and is effective as of 10-18-2022.

Introduction – One Item, Inc. has created three mobile apps including the Health Science Index, Better Now, and the Sports Science Index app which have a free, smaller content version, plus the ability to purchase the full content version as an in-app purchase. It is provided in the app stores and is intended for use as is. Please also review the Terms of Use/EULA.

Protected Data and Privacy – One Item is committed to maintaining the accuracy, confidentiality, and security of your data and personally identifiable information (“Personal Information”). As part of this commitment, our privacy policy governs our actions as they relate to the collection, use and disclosure of Personal Information and Data Safety. Our privacy policy is based upon our high standard of business ethics and values set forth by the best practices in use. We have designated an individual or individuals who is/are responsible for privacy and compliance with our privacy policy.

Agreeing to this Policy – If you choose to use one of the One Item apps, such as the Health Science Index, Sports Science Index, or Better Now, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy.

Assurance of Privacy – We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy. One Item does not collect or sell data for advertising or marketing purposes.

Terms of Use Reference – The terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions, which are accessible at our websites. We are responsible for maintaining and protecting the Personal Information under our control.

Information Collection and Use of Various Data

Collection Purposes – The Personal Information that we collect is used for providing features to the user and improving the Service. This page is used to inform app users regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information when people decide to use our apps.

Individualized User Experience – For a better experience, while using our apps, we may require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information, including your screen name, the email you provide to us to login to the device, and a phone to allow for the text based features.

Personal Data – Demographic and other personally identifiable information (such as your name and email address) that you voluntarily give to us when choosing to participate in various activities related to the Application. Please note there is no social sharing of your data, and your data is for your benefit, and not for marketing purposes.

Derivative Data – Information our host servers automatically collect when you access the Application, include the normal data which servers collect to securely serve requests and to transfer data from application to database and back again, and as with all enterprise applications these are stored in server log files.

Financial Data – We do not store or collect any financial data anywhere in our systems. If you purchase an optional subscription, that information is only passed between your phones native account settings and the app store.

Data from Social Networks – We do not incorporate or interact with social network data at this time.

Geo-Location Information – We do not incorporate or interact with or track any location-based information from your mobile device.

Push Notifications – We may request to send you push notifications regarding your account or the Application. If you wish to opt-out from receiving these types of communications, you may turn them off in your device’s settings.

Optional Third-Party Support – If you choose to “share” and “invite” specific family members to help support you in your weight loss goals for example, you may do so with the knowledge that they will be able to see this data, but it does not include any personally identifiable information other than your name (which they would know). If you connect your account to the third party of your choice, you are granting the Application permission to access this information.

General Use of Your Information – Having accurate information about you permits us to provide you with a smooth, efficient, and customized experience. Specifically, we may use information collected about you via the Application to:

1. Create and manage your account
2. Email you regarding your account or order
3. Process assessment data and analysis for your benefit
4. Analyze usage and trends to improve your experience with the app
5. Notify you of updates to the application
6. Increase the efficiency and operation of the application
7. Resolve bugs and troubleshoot problems
8. Verify subscription status or to verify and respond to product and customer service requests.

Data Disclosure – Here is the data which the app uses:

• A made-up screen – a name the user makes up (this is the name friends, if any, would see, if they opt to share)
• The users real name – if a subscription is purchased via the normal app store channels (not displayed however)
• Any financial information – used in purchasing is not stored by One Item servers, it is only passed through to the store’s purchasing system
• The users email address to allow login
• The system will assign an account ID which is kept private
• The user uses the app to collect and process data in the form of subjective scores covering fitness or lifestyle habits to show them what to focus on
• Users may add a photo (optional)
• Optional – User contacts – users may wish to set up their friends and family to help them monitor their habits and goals to help them with their quest – this is optional and manually triggered by the user
• The app monitors their use and activity which helps them to make the  improvements they desire
• The user can add notes if they wish
• The host system monitors app performance data, logs and device platform information

Optional Support Convenience – The app does collect information used to identify you or those in your contact list, however please note, the contact information is done via the “friends support feature” and is totally optional. Information is not collected to sell to others, or to use in any way, other than to provide features for the user support.  The user has the option to allow the app to download the phone’s contacts so that the app user may create a “support group” to help them track their personal goals, such as lose weight, refrain from smoking, etc. This feature is optional. Just don’t share with friends if this concerns you. The information that we request will be retained by us and used as described in this privacy policy.

Identifiable Information Limited Purpose – We do not share or allow the purchase of your data with 3rd parties, unless they are actually the authors of the content or retained by One Item to provide a service related to the app.

Service Providers – We may employ third-party companies and individuals due to the following reasons:

• To facilitate our Service;
• To provide the Service on our behalf;
• To perform Service-related services; or
• To assist us in analyzing how our Service is used.

We want to inform users that these third parties have access to their Personal Information. The reason is to perform the tasks assigned to them on our behalf. However, they are obligated not to disclose or use the information for any other purpose. One Item does not share user data with third parties who are outside the app program. One Item protects user data.

Log Data – We want to inform users that whenever you use our Service, in a case of an error in the app we collect data and information (through third-party products) on your phone called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utilizing our Service, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other statistics.

Cookies Definition – Cookies are files with a small amount of data that are commonly used as anonymous unique identifiers. These are sent to your browser from the websites that you visit and are stored on your device’s internal memory.

This Service does not use these “cookies” explicitly. However, the app may use third-party code and libraries that use “cookies” to collect information and improve their services. You have the option to either accept or refuse these cookies and know when a cookie is being sent to your device. If you choose to refuse our cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of this Service.

Security – We value your trust in providing us your Personal Information, thus we are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it, and data transfer is encrypted. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Links to Other Sites – This Service may contain links to other sites. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. Note that these external sites are not operated by us. Therefore, we strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of these websites. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.

Children’s Privacy – The services are not intended or address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. In the case we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we will be able to do the necessary actions. Under 18, you need a parental consent to use the application.

Customer Access – Upon request, you may verify the accuracy and completeness of your Personal Information, and may request that it be amended, if appropriate, or deleted. However, in certain circumstances permitted by law, we will not disclose certain information to you. For example, we may not disclose information relating to you if other individuals are referenced or if there are legal, security or commercial proprietary restrictions.
