Why should we Give Positive Reinforcement?

Positive reinforcement will help people do better than negative reinforcement

in every man and every age, there is always something to praise and something to blame

Giving is what makes us happy. It is not actually what we have in our possession that makes us the world a better place, but our readiness to give and make others feel better. Giving also encompasses giving positive reinforcement, which involves rewarding desirable behavior to strengthen it. When you praise another person for doing a good thing, you significantly increase their likelihood of them repeating that deed or even doing much better.

James Beattie, a Scottish philosopher says that people have a choice to either dispirit or encourage any human behavior that they are confronted with. So, in every man and every age, there is always something to praise and something to blame. We are constantly confronted with human behavior and we must decide to either disparage or compliment.

•  It clearly communicates and defines what expected behaviors

• It reinforces a person’s behavior immediately they learn something new and promotes thorough, quick learning

• Recognizing and rewarding people’s behavior makes them feel self-confident
