What is the purpose of storytelling?

Mankind has used stories to pass along knowledge and make a point for thousands of years

Sometimes we are interested in clear and concise communication and we find ourselves waiting for the speaker to get to the point.  Is it really necessary to stop the interactive exchange of ideas and digress into a story Telling session?

Story telling is more than just another way to get a point across.  It can convey complexity, nuance and emotion in ways that facts cannot.  Also, don’t underestimate the power of entertainment.  If you are telling a compelling story, your audience will likely focus better and listen more.  Yet, if you need more convincing, check out the article below.

Why Storytelling is a More Important Skill Than You Realize:
