When was the last time that you really felt connected with your family members?
For relationships to stay strong and lasting, it is important to set aside time with family and to be dedicated to those whom we love. This holds true whether the relationship is with a spouse, a child, a parent, or a sibling.
Be present with family members
There is one quote which constantly reminds me of how fast your kids could grow, and it goes: “The days are long, but the years are short.” It sends you down a sentimental reflection on how time is so fleeting – no matter how much you want to hold on to the moment longer or to the people you love.
Thus, take time to create strong bonds of affection. As much as you can, practice those parenting skills in person rather than delegating all of these responsibilities to someone else. When you go hands-on and make your presence felt, your children do grow up feeling more secure and confident about themselves.
Spend quality time with loved ones
It does happen that we get so busy and caught up in the many details of everyday life. A lot of our thoughts and energies may go to work as a priority or to finances as a means to sustain our lifestyle. Still, we choose to go out of our way to spend quality time with family at home or on vacation.
It doesn’t have to cost much and some of the joys can come for free. Usually, these fun times only ask you to be inclusive and creative. After all, when we do activities together as a group or as a team, then everyone gets a more well-rounded sense of what “family” really means.
